Baby's First Beach Trip

Quick sidenote: A tremendous special thanks to my sister-in-law, Kellie, for giving me a few tips to make uploading photos to this blog easier. It's still immensely tricky and not too user-friendly, but I was at least able to do it this time in one sitting without the desire to give it up completely! And now on to the post...

Now that we are only weeks away from the biggest move in our married lives, there are a number of things Patrick and I want to do in the area before leaving it. One of those things was to take one more visit to Ocean City, Maryland, so that Charis could see the ocean and one day say she'd touched the Atlantic...even if she didn't remember it. A generous offer from a Folger friend of her free condo made this possible, and two friends and a baby to share it with made it fun. Never mind that it's still freezing here - the beach is always a good time! So off to the coast we headed for President's Day weekend...

"I am soooooooooooooo happy to be out of the car!"

"One of my favorite games is to play with Daddy's beard."

It was a good idea to take a few family photos on the condo balcony before heading out, since Charis pooped her carefully chosen "winter ocean wear" outfit before we actually even made it to the beach.

Kimmie and Aunt Linda, do you recognize those super-cute, trendy little jeans? Remember how HUGE they looked when you brought them for Charis at Thanksgiving? They fit her perfectly now!

The first Torres family beach photo!

A day of firsts: Charis touching sand...

...and the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.
